It’s been nearly 4 weeks since we lost Lucy, and Raphael is finding some comfort in his new toys (I didn’t even pose him for this picture).
We have been showering him with love and attention, and that, along with regular visits from Emma, is healing for all of us.
I recently turned 60, and although the celebration was a bit lower key than originally planned, I enjoyed being with my family, eating good food and solving a murder (the boxed kind)!
One of the activities from my birthday weekend included going to a Milwaukee Brewers (https://www.mlb.com/brewers) baseball game. Steve loves to tailgate, and despite it being 37 degrees with high winds, we set up the grill and ate in the Yount parking lot. Wrapped in a down coat and two blankets, I was still freezing! Some fans, half my age I might add, had on no coat! I obviously wasn’t drinking enough to keep up with them!
Here we are with a slightly aggressive Bernie Brewer (horsing around for the benefit of his boss, my son Zak)!
Finally warm inside the field with the dome closed!
I also had the opportunity to spend the day in Chicago with my friend Jill. We shopped at Anthropologie (obv) and saw Randy Rainbow live as part of his Playing With Myself book tour. It was great fun! If only I could get him on the podcast! https://www.randyrainbow.com
I have some busy weeks planned ahead with a couple of movies at the Milwaukee Film Festival https://mkefilm.org, Beauty and the Beast at the Milwaukee Ballet https://www.milwaukeeballet.org, and more baseball!
